Gitton Pere et Fils

One of the more classic producers with a history, they were the early pioneers of single-site, terroir-focused Sancerres. And it is the famous Silex soils here which the late Didier Dagueneau became famous for, and indeed Dagueneau himself admitted that it was Gitton who inspired him in the early 1990s and helped him to learn about the deep, complex terroir in the region.
