A recent discovery by the G+C team whilst out in Burgundy, brother and sister team Guillaume and Sarah Glantenay are currently the sixth generation to run this family domaine based in Volnay. Whilst their father, Pierre, officially handed over the reigns to his two children in 2013, he still looks after the domaine's eight hectares of vineyards, four of which are in Volnay itself, and others in Pommard and Chambolle-Musigny too. There is a great elegance and suppleness to the wines of Domaine Glantenay, thanks in part to more refined winemaking on Guillaume's part. This includes adding more wholebunch fruit (around 15-20%), and low toasted oak to so as to not overpower the delicate aromas of his wines. The vineyards are all managed sustainably without any use of pesticides or herbicides.
