For August, our sights are set on the Alps, bringing together two mountain regions that hold a permanent spot in our rotation: the Jura and Savoie.
In the Jura, alongside legendary pioneers like Overnoy and Bruyère-et-Houillon, the real momentum right now is driven by growers like Stéphane Tissot, Cellier Saint-Benoît, Julien Labet, and Nicolas Jacob. Working across marls and limestone, they craft single-plot wines with incredible tension and character.
Over in Savoie, long overdue for a closer look, the area yields some of France's most refreshing, mineral-driven whites and perfumed reds. Producers like Adrien Berlioz (Cellier des Cray) and Gilles Berlioz are standout examples, breathing new life into the region with their site-driven interpretations of Roussanne from Chignin-Bergeron.
