With 27 hectares of vines across their six Grand Crus, Vosne Romanee has earned its place as one of the most important villages in the Cotes de Nuits. At its best, the wines of this village show an unrivalled perfume and a delicate silkiness even among their most basic appellations that has led Burgundy lovers chasing after their wines year on year. This is apparent especially among producers such as Domaine Prieure Roch and Comte Liger Belair who have discovered exceptional lieux-dits among their terroir. And in the past few years, we have seen significant improvements in Village wines among the many growers we have listed below, thanks in part to stricter control of yields and selections during harvest. It has always been our opinion that basic appellations is a good test of a winemaker's abilities - if great wine can be made from modest plots, then one can only expect great things from their best sites.
Cheers and happy hunting!
